I’m not a scientist. My son is a graduate of Purdue’s grad school of ME where he received his masters while on a fellowship. I go for the scientific explanation. Even if as a ten year I pondered the dividing of the Red Sea and Moses on Birkenstock’s descending Mt. Sinai (make sure u have good coverage), it didn’t seem miraculous. It was a good fable to exercise the rights of minorities, the ancient Israelite tribes. As much as we like to make fun of ourselves our sense of humor has been ironed out of sweat, dreams, misconduct, borrowed virtues and ambitions born of slavery and death houses. We have culture I was told. We read books. More than curly sideburns I couldn’t understand or begin to relate to I was an intelligent but not remarkable student. So I leave climate change to scientists and I don’t care where they’re from or what their religion is though I very seriously question the findings of one who holds to creationist ideologue.
So on Sunday I’d travel to temple on horse, and pass the huge parochial school. That meant Catholic. Statues in front. Statues in back. If u didn’t know Christ was dead you’d think this was quite the Greek god. I’d think of the dirty Jew slogans being rhymed in class as my mother in the 20′s was literally chased through the streets of NYC by Polish, Irish and Italians demanding retribution. Today I realize they do believe I must have sold Jesus for a derivative and I covered their losses for them with a short sale so all is well. Hats off to Libya for blaming the Israelis bomb attack on their inventory of weapons. They have been reading Machiavelli and Rove I thought and this led them to the same delusion I had. We must find a theory that can be proven and be sure everyone buys into to it to save ourselves and Israel. What could go wrong?
So as the ugly cataclysmic thought wandered my ancient heritage I came upon a street lamp inherited for his usefulness by Kafka. Here was a man I could understand. And he said to borrow the words of my father which weren’t often in Yiddish so I’ll speak the truth of a man who knew rock bottom and climbing over dead bodies as much as any modern day mobster I knew: you gotta hand it to them. They invent such stuff only an idiot would believe. And they want me to buy it? They can drop dead.
That is what I have to say to Romney.
