Interesting side note: The Mormon church is well known for “taking care of their own”–with food (hot meals delivered to homes where the wife is sick, groceries from the Bishop’s storehouse to families out of work), employment counseling, and general welfare services (the “visiting teacher” is supposed to keep his ear open for any needs the family might have. As a landlord, have gotten checks from the local ward to pay the rent for my LDS tenants who were in danger of eviction.

Notice that there is no “personal responsibility” exception. If you’re a church member in good standing, your casserole isn’t withheld because you’re laid up due to one of your own stupid choices, whether it’s not wearing a safety belt or an obesity-related disease. Your rental assistance isn’t denied because you got fired because you violated a company rule.

Someone should ask Mitt why what works in his church wouldn’t work in the larger nation.

Or maybe he’d say it would–as long as we made LDS membership mandatory.

R We going to wait until Mitt is 99 and we turn the page to read how the LDS money is Bain. that Mitt squandered hundreds of millions on bad investments. That the unions of the Teamsters and AFLCIO were no different than the church he abused with his filthy lies and disdainful looks. He’s a lecher. A cretin. A fob. A fool. A liar. A cheat. A thief. While farmers debate the subsidies and Republicans say coal is the future Mitt has not a clue about foreign policy unless it is described in an AR. Syria is falling. No one with a long term outlook is prepared to dare to say Iran is next much less peace in our times. But the ME is being shaken to its foundation. Of course Al Qaeda is involved. And so is Hezbollah. And China. And look how sanctions on Hamas have spent their war chest. The PA has not stopped defending its madness but the suicide bombings have disintegrated because of the barrier to Palestinians to domesticate an industrialized technological achievement seen only in the US. Not even China can compare itself to Israel but Mitt thinks its some sort of biblical site to reclaim. He brings shame and disgust to this country. I loathe the middle class white men who hate blacks and will forfeit the future for a voucher. Don’t stumble on Paul. OMG it’s a disgrace.
