I'm laughing that Friedman found the time to be funny and than realized it may be an awkward moment when a comic isn't being funny and we still laugh. Mitt or Gubya or whomever are not chosen for the highest position in the US based on brains, wisdom or experience. Like their predecessors they've bought their way into the White Club. So there is no reason to suspect that Mitt lost votes here. As for Tony, well he at least has an excuse. If Mitt wins the bigot vote which is largely his for the asking what word will singled out to parlay his grand entrance onto the international stage? The mitigator is here. To Mittigate: to make worse thru effortless and vapid action or inaction. To be clumsy and take credit as in nullify.
